Our Impact

We help young people:

  • Description text goes herePUSHH helps youth recognize their strengths and learn how to bounce back from challenges, stress, and adversity. Through peer support, mentorship, and life skills training, participants develop the confidence to speak up for themselves, set goals, and pursue opportunities. They learn to trust their abilities, manage difficult emotions, and approach setbacks with a growth mindset—tools that empower them long after they leave our programs.

  • Many of the youth we serve face trauma, instability, or community violence. PUSHH creates safe, healing-centered environments where young people learn emotional awareness, coping strategies, and healthy communication. Through counseling, healing circles, and peer support, participants develop stronger relationships, reduce stress, and build healthier habits. This emotional and social stability becomes the foundation for better decision-making, academic success, and healthier futures.

  • We believe leadership starts with the courage to improve one’s community. PUSHH trains youth to lead advocacy efforts, support peers, organize community events, and engage in civic action. Through fellowships and hands-on practice, participants learn public speaking, organizing, conflict resolution, and teamwork. Many youth go on to become mentors, organizers, and advocates—leaders who inspire others and contribute to safer, stronger neighborhoods.

  • Our programs teach young people how to assess situations, understand consequences, and make decisions that support their long-term well-being. Youth learn critical thinking, emotional regulation, and problem-solving—skills that reduce risky behaviors and improve personal responsibility. With guidance from mentors, counselors, and peers, participants become more thoughtful about their choices at home, school, and in their relationships.

  • Through conflict resolution training, peer support, and advocacy work, youth learn to recognize harmful situations, de-escalate tensions, and be a positive influence in their communities. Whether they are supporting a friend in crisis, interrupting violence, or leading community engagement activities, participants actively contribute to safer schools and neighborhoods. By empowering youth to help others, PUSHH strengthens safety, unity, and healing across Newark.
